2.2 Plural Nouns in –ї and Some Exceptions
In this module, you will learn which nouns take the ending –ї in plural, become familiar with two groups of nouns that deviate from the regular pattern of plural ending formation, and learn the Ukrainian plural form of pronoun “my.”

Besides the feminine nouns that end in –ія, feminine nouns that end in another vowel + я take the ending –ї in plural.
For example: галере́я → галере́ї, and ста́туя → ста́туї
In addition, the noun сім’я́ takes the ending –ї in plural: сім’я́ → сі́м’ї

Note the exceptional plural endings in nouns that end with the suffixes –ар and –яр. Note also the plural form of “my.”

Nouns that end in –р preceded by a different vowel (not –а or –я) follow the general rule for plural formation
and take the ending –и in plural.

Note the exceptional plural ending in masculine and feminine nouns that end with hushers (ж, ч, ш, щ) or husher + –a. Note again the plural form of “my.”

Тут дощ. → Тут дощі́.
